The Light at the End of the Tunnel

It’s amazing how grief can slow your roll to almost a complete stop, and sometimes…a complete stop.  And the only thing we can do is to walk in the space of grief until we are allowed to step out of it.  It’s easier for some to navigate that space than it is for others.  And for me, it continues to be a difficult passage.

I use my creativity as a “The Light at the End of the Tunnel”.  And this piece represents a spark of light for me.  It’s a piece I created for my cousin, Regina, who helps me to keep putting one foot before the other, knowing me to be the crybaby I have always been since we were little girls.  Now that we are both on the threshold of 80, she is still helping me to keep smiling.  So, when she told me that yellow is her favorite color, and I saw evidence of that fact in her home, I decided to follow that lead to the creation of this piece for her.  And while creating it, I realized that it was a beautiful “Mile Marker” on the road of grief, and I could feel the release of grief as I worked on it…It’s visual proof of “The Light at the End of the Tunnel” …A “Mile Marker”.
